Spring: polarized
One of the things that is hard to capture in photos of my art is the texture. That is part of the whole show for me. I love the the patina of old buildings and furniture, the real time worn feel of things. With all the layers of paint I try to capture some of that same feeling, not as a mimic but has a homage. This painting uses different finishes as well as a mix of acrylic and oil based paints. The result is a varied landscape of lusters that enhance the chorus and cacophony of colors. In the photo you'll just have to take my word for it, but if you stop in to reorient in Warwick, RI you can see for yourself.
